Horns by Joe Hill

Horns
By Joe Hill

It's been about a year since Merrin Williams was raped and murdered. Her killer still hasn't been found though everyone thinks it was her boyfriend Ignatius Perrish. One day, people started telling that straight to Ig's face along with their secret truths and darkest desires. And from that day, when Ig touched someone, he would learn everything there was to know about them, everything they'd ever done. People would vomit up information that no-one would ever ask for.
That was the day that Ig grew horns.
The morning after a tough night out was when Ig noticed the horned stubs protruding from his forehead. After a trip to the hospital and his local church, Ig learns quickly about his 'powers' for reading peoples' minds. Strange thing is that as soon as Ig has gone, the person forgets he was even there.
After an enlightening talk with his brother Terry, Ig searches out his old friend Lee Tourneau. Terry said that Lee and Merrin had something between them and that he might just know something about Merrin's death.
At the foundry where Merrin was killed, Ig and an army of snakes prepare to confront Lee to get the truth.
I love this book. I'm so glad I read it I can't wait till the time comes to read it again. I was hooked on Clive Barker about ten years ago and now I am well and truly hooked on Joe Hill.
‘Horns’ is a page-turner. I usually just read when I go to bed at night; when I was reading Horns I couldn't wait to get to bed to start reading again.
Joe Hill is the offspring of the most prolific horror write of our time, Stephen King, but rest assured, there are no shirt-tails being ridden on here! Hill has got his own unique style, his own special way of making you double-check the doors and windows at night.
A must read for fans of the macabre.
